Our Experience

Dealing with complex project scenarios is where our support is most valuable.  What are some of the complexities your organization may face?   Tight deadlines?  Far-flung locations?  Political pressures and sensitivities (internal and/or external)?  Our experience brings proven techniques and an understanding of the subtleties that can be crucial in successful delivery of a project.

Will you get there on time?

Virtually all projects face time pressures…to be first to market, to maximize ROI, etc.  Some project scenarios are more time sensitive than others; Project Succes has supported projects that have:

  • Set or inflexible deadlines – Sports-related sponsorships of major events such as the Olympic Games and FIFA World CupTM.  Event dates are set, and a lack of readiness means the benefit and impact of the sponsorship investment will be affected.
  • Narrow windows of opportunity – Product development that must align with a relatively short “selling season”.  A delay means a full year of lost opportunity.
  • Phase-in / phase-out requirements – A supplier change or production transition means curtailing one scenario while ramping-up another.  A failure to execute properly can have potential contractual or legal implications, not to mention impacts to production and customer delivery.

Where in the world is your project?

Gaining alignment with project objectives, expectations and requirements can be difficult when the team and stakeholders all work in the same office.  How do you gain alignment when the team is dispersed around the country? Or even around the world?

Communication is more than just hitting “send” – the message must be received and understood to have the needed impact.  When communications include multiple sites around the world the complexity of effective communication grows exponentially.  E-mail, conference calls, video calls, and screen sharing are only tools.  Communications lose their effectiveness if they are not properly structured and if they do not include the proper content.

An effective project management technique will take into account the challenges presented by multiple global sites, which means accounting for differences in cultures, time zones, languages, and technological capabilities.

PSI excels in supporting these global scenarios.  One recent client project impacted eleven different facilities in nine different countries on four different continents.  Alignment was crucial…and tricky.

Are you getting the true story?

Even organizations with an existing structure for project management can experience difficulty when the project seeks to address a particularly sensitive issue, or where internal/external politics provide a risk of bias.

PSI brings a neutral third-party perspective to these scenarios.  Our ability to communicate objectively and candidly facilitates the open reporting of project status.  Clients engage our services in sensitive situations just to mitigate the possibility of letting bias creep into the equation.

Understanding and handling the always real, but sometimes hidden, complexities of these and other project scenarios is where our experience can deliver project success.
